Promoting STEM Education of Future Chemistry Teachers with an Engineering Approach Involving Single-Board Computers

We describe a master’s level chemistry education course that was designed to support STEM by strengthening the E component with an engineering approach. Engineering approach is method of conducting projects systematically similar professional engineers. In course, future teachers were given task building measurement instrument using single-board computer (SBC). addition description, we present pilot study, aim which explore opportunities and challenges initiates pre-service trying accomplish SBC-based open project. The study employed qualitative research approach, as data collection platform. collected analyzed inductive content analysis. analysis shows SBC project good platform for learning teaching about chemistry-driven education, but it very challenging conduct. main conclusion practical solution in education. To generalize these findings wider context, suggest further improve this study’s results re-evaluate new instance course.
